Friction Tape

I agree with Zuk...

I have used various stuff before and the glue on friction tape will slip and slide.... I have used the cloth type fine sand paper... Emery sheet ..... it has worked great for me..

Can do !!!

Has anyone used friction tape on the inside of scope rings.
I have but mostly use, electrical tape, like scotch-33, that is if the rings don't come lined. The big factor is to keep the film thin. I also index my mounted scopes so I can see if there is ever any movement. I do use a Wheeler torque tool but mostly go by feel ..... ;)

Be Safe !!!

I'm a believer in the Burris Signature rings with the polymer inserts as they allow the scope to align with the barrel, don't require lapping, don't mar the scope and hold the scope tightly.

When I don't use the Burris Signatures, I use masking tape- plain ol tan stuff. Thought I bought some black masking tape a couple of weeks ago- but I can't find it. Musta been dreaming the whole thing.

On more powerful cartridge rifles, I use powdered rosin (not resin). I'm careful to not let it get into the action.
