Freshing up an old Bushy!

Well folks I went and trashed my bank account again!
I bought a new barreled upper for my Bushmaster Dissipator.
I bought it from J&T Distributing Co. it included: a 24" stainless fluted Shaw barrel, 1:8 twist. That was mounted to a DPMS high-rider flat top upper receiver. This is a serious chunk of metal! No more wimpy 16" barrel for me! I got it cleaned, scope mounted, and bore sighted. I now have to start the long break in procedure. I really love the fit and finish of this piece. J&T has fast friendly service and great prices especially if you add up all the components and the work of assembling them together!

Let me know if you have a spare couch, as my wife doesn't know about this yet!

Tenderfoot,

Let us know how it shoots. I have been want something similar myself. How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Great!
I had a little "break in the barrel" session yesterday.
It shot great! Didn't take long to get in the black at 75 yds.
It hits what I aim it at, I'm just a so so aimer!
I'm still finalizing the scope mounting point.
Trying to get the eye relief to match up with my comfortable cheek weld. I'm glad to get away from the scope on the carry handle and the cheek piece on the stock! Never could get comfortable with that setup.
After that I'll lock it down in a gun vise and set the zero.
I try to take all of me out of the equation I can so I can honestly tell what the rifle is doing.
Don't bother with a muzzle brake unless it's just for looks.
An AR with a 10 lb. barrel ain't gonna kick!
