D Dfariswheel New member Aug 16, 2005 #2 To field strip: With an empty magazine in the pistol, pull the slide back until it locks open. Remove the magazine, and holding the slide back, remove the slide stop to the left. Allow the slide to move forward and off the frame. Lift up the rear end of the recoil spring guide and remove it. Lift the rear of the barrel up and slide it back and out of the side. To remove the hammer assembly "package" grab the upper part of the assembly and pull it straight up and out of the frame.
