Has anyone ever completed, or even heard of, rechambering this pistol from 7.65 MAS to maybe .32 S&W Long? I know that the rounds I've bought have been trimmed .32 S&W cases, so I think the dimensions are close.

Would I be committing a sin by doing this?;) I know it's not much of a collector's piece, but I do want to shoot it.

.32 S&W Long is a rimmed revolver cartridge.

I don't think it would work without some pretty serious modifications, not the least of which would be manufacturing magazines from SCRATCH.

Adventurer,

Well, .32 S&W is also a rimmed cartridge, just a shorter version of the .32 S&W Long. Same problems apply. .32 S&W Long brass will be so marked, while .32 S&W brass will be marked that way.

I'm pretty certain that you can get the proper brass from Old Western Scrounger, and possibly other sources.

Standard .32 ACP bullets should work OK.

In fact, there was an article in one of the gun mags some years ago by a guy who had a chamber insert made that would allow him to fire .32 ACP brass in the gun. That is a possibility for you.

I seem to recall, however, that he had some problems with feeding the shorter .32 ACP from the magazine, and the chamber insert would work its way loose and jam the gun every once in awhile.

Don't change it!

Hi. I have a S.A.C.M. 1935A, essentilaly an older version of the same pistol in 32 French Long (7.65 MAS). I reload for it using brass from Ammo Depot (reformed .32 S&W Long brass) and .30 Luger or .30 Mauser bullets. Lee makes dies for it. Its not hard, just get the brass and go! Even though it not a real collector piece now, that's no reason to bastardize it.

I agree. I've decided to reload for it. I just wanted to shoot it NOW without breaking the bank, as my reloading hobby is on hold for a short while.

It is a neat looking pistol, even with the finish problems on mine!

Ah God!

How could I have forgotten about Ammo Depot??? :o

They have one of the best selections of old and obsolete rounds available, with VERY reasonable prices.
