Freedom Rally and Barbecue

To All:

I am organizing the 1st Annual RKBBQ to take place on Sunday, 3 September in Boulder, Colorado! We have rented a city park and arranged for an all-you-can-eat BBQ caterer!

The First Annual "Right to Keep and Burn Barbecue" is an opportunity for everyone to get together and both celebrate our American liberties and freedoms - and also make contacts and new friends to assist us in the struggle to preserve our inalienable rights.

You can review the details in the News section of my site:
http://www.teesdale.com

I welcome everyone's participation and attendance!

Best regards,

Robert Teesdale

Boulder = heart of the beast! ;) We'll be there & I'll take a look at your site & expect e-mail in just a few!

Sounds fun, bud! & great idea!

Care for an extra 400-500 good folk? Thought so. ;)

Teesdale,

Talk about being in the jaws of the beast! Good luck.

You were never in the Navy by any chance were you?

Jack99:

No, no military service... I've got a hearing impairment that prohibits it.

So I've decided that another way to serve my nation is this way... to stand as high as I can and shine as bright a light on our nation's freedoms as possible.

Let the domestic enemies scurry off into the darkness!

Labgrade:

400-500 folks? You're scaring my wife now!

In all seriousness, it would be absolutely fantastic if we get that sort of response! We'd certainly have to find another location, since the limit on the Boulder park we've reserved is 150....

That many people would let us do some terrific things, though - raffle off a rifle, get some kiddie rides, Eddie Eagle tapes for the kids, etc....

Let's see how big we can make it!

Keep checking the News section of my site for updates....

To All:

I would encourage those who want to attend the 1st Annual RKBBQ to get their registrations in early - as we need to both pay the caterer, and give them an idea of how many attendees will be there.

They claim they can handle up to 20,000 people at one barbecue! All that food would be an awesomely intimidating sight. :)

Alrighty, but ...

All must know up-front what is expected from those who attend re any fees, etc., et al .... we'd care not for any suprises, etc. & perhaps the caterer, mayhaps be chosen with somewhat more of an eye towards providing services for the crowd that may be in attendance.

Too, 150!?! Norhern Colorado's TRT turns out 4X that number in protests against NRA's Project Exile! You may want to expand your permit (somewhat higher) to be able to contain a bit more of a fun-fest for like-mindeds to get together & just play - it's high time ... a sorta small-time Dave's Bake-Sale ....

Let's do talk.

The word's been put out (just through e-mail alerts) & already confirmations are coming in .... & it hasn't even hit the station yet .... that'll be 7/228AM

Nothing worse than having a standing room only for a bunch of pro-freedom folks that can't eat! ... other than that they can't shoot at something, that is. ;)

OK, bring on the Boulder SWAT team .... wouldn't be the first time ....

Robert / Al

I have added the event to the
Colorado TRT web site

Robert, what you're doing sounds like a fine thing, however, spamming is very uncool!

Okay... if we start getting sufficient responses to warrant moving to a larger venue than the park (in other words, more than 100 registrations) we'll do that!

Let's see what happens! I'm all ready to do that if we need to - and I certainly hope we do. Another thought: if it looks like we're going to have a huge, rather than a small, event - it might be a bit fun to have the press down there to capture the action!

Nothing like making the liberals feel as if their safe, government-controlled enclave is sprouting seeds of liberty!

I'm well aware of that. However, I'm picking e-mail addresses carefully and remove them immediately from my list if folks simply reply with a removal request.

As I've got approximately 15 removal requests over the last month out of over 300 people who have been receiving the updates since June, it would seem that I'm being both careful and accurate in my targeting.

That's a 5% removal rate. In other words, 95% of the folks receiving the emails wish to continue receiving it. Pretty good rate if you ask me.

If you would like to be removed, please don't hesitate to send me an email requesting it. I'd be happy to respect the privacy of your in-box.

PLEASE do direct people to my site so they can obtain complete and accurate information about fees, etc. - I agree that we want absolutely no surprises!

I'm sorry you feel that way.

I've removed your e-mail address from the list, so you won't receive any additional updates.

I'd welcome your support for the RKBBQ if you'd like to participate.

"Too, 150!?! Norhern Colorado's TRT turns out 4X that number in protests against NRA's Project Exile!"

Perhaps some background is in order. :)

The RKBBQ arose as an idea on the CNN Community site, in the Guns Under Fire message board. I've been posting there for about four years now.

I mentioned that it would be fun to meet all the folks I correspond with there - and thus the RKBBQ was born. I was hoping, at best, to recover most of the cost of organizing and hosting the event.

I didn't dream that it would catch on like this! Not a complaint... just perhaps a little shocked.

I will assuredly to everything I can to maximize everyone's enjoyment and attendance!

Robert-
The definition of "spamming" hardly requires multiple emails to the same person...it only requires one email to lots of people....I got one...so did a number of others from this site, some of which have complained to me.

We'll be glad to help with your gathering, but not in this manner. I'm asking that you remove any addy's from your list that were garnered from cruising TFL profiles. I'm asking that this be done immediately.

That complete, we'll be happy to post an announcement about your RKBBQ, assuming we can verify the details. From this people can go to your site and sign up for the email list. Unfortunately, your site address doesn't resolve. I suggest you spend some time getting it on line.
Rich Lucibella

Mr. Lucibella:

The dozen odd addresses I retrieved from TFL are mingled; it's literally impossible to identify them amongst the several hundred others on the list.

As you indicate that some folks have expressed concern - as have you, as an administrator of TFL - please do forward their comments to me. I will both remove their address from the list, and provide each with an individual and personal apology if you so desire.

What address are you attempting to access my site with? I'm not seeing any trouble with it from either home or at work.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions about the event or my site.

Best regards,

Robert Teesdale

Robert (and Rich), I also had a problem with your imbedded links to the RKBBQ on your site. A left-click wouldn't work, but a right-click and select "Open in new window" does work. It looks like the links are too restrictive as to how they operate. I am somewhat HTML handicapped so I can't give much additional advice on this problem. I'm using IE5. HTH.

[addendum]
The above info was for an attempt I made about 3 hours ago to get to the RKBBQ info. I just tried again and now the links all work properly. Color me confused.
