Free Countries

About a year from now, I'm graduating from college. At that time, it is likely that I will be going abroad for some time (at least a year).

Jeff Cooper says that there are 3 countries with good, or at least okay, gun laws: Switzerland, Bolivia and the Czech Republic. Indeed, I understand that Bolivia has no gun laws whatsoever. Switzerland has a fairly elaborate registration scheme, but citizens are allowed--indeed, required--to have full-auto weapons. I don't know anything about the laws in Czechia.

Does anyone know of other countries with gun laws freer than our own? Also, can anyone elaborate on the laws of the countries named above?

Thanks.

I believe it is the Czech government which is on a gun-control kick, right now. There's been some stuff on enews sites.

The Swiss "must have" applies to their citizens and military service, to put it very simply; you wouldn't be affected. Otherwise, their regulations have been commented upon as tolerable.

I don't know if things have changed, but Costa Rica did have unregulated sales; I saw an ad for a Blackhawk .357 in the "Tico Times". The hunting is great; the rice farmers love for hunters to come help "do something" about those evil, nasty whitewing doves which eat the rice crop. :)
