Franz Sodia Circa?

I purchased an interesting rifle today at a large local gun show. The intention was to scout for some old Savage combo rifles when a dealer suggested I check out a table down the way where he had seen a side by side combo. I found what appears to be a Franz Sodia Sxs Cape Gun? I really didn't (and still don't) know anything about it other than I knew I had to buy. I was a little concerned by the barrel patina which appeared to be either blue steel finished during a refurbish or entirely replaced. The barrel does have an insignia identifying it as Franz Sodia but it's a mystery that I hope someone can identify. Regardless of whether it was stained or swapped out, the craftsmanship of the weapon is extraordinary. I'm not sure if I've purchased an heirloom for my son or was ripped off. Im really interested in knowing more as I've had a difficult time finding any information on this .22 Hornet/20 Gauge combo.

In addition to any history someone may be able to offer, along with model accuracy (is this thing a Frankenstein?), I'm also not sure what the heck to shoot out of this thing? 2.5" 20 Guage? Are modern shotgun shells too much for this to handle? Also, what's it worth? I'm happy to disclose what I paid for it once I hear a few thoughts on the value.

I've uploaded the pictures to google drive. Please let me know if you have trouble accessing them:
