Frank Lautenberg

I saw an interview on the O'Reilley Factor with Lautenberg who is against
abolishing the DEATH TAX. He claims that only two percent of those in the U.S.,
have estates which are taxed. I believe this to be untrue. The super rich usually have Trusts set up to avoid paying the death tax. Usually it is
farmers and middle class who have been
victimized the most. What the press fail
to inform people is that this tax was created in 1916 to pay for WWI! It is the liberal elite or illiterate like
Lautenberg who believe that we have a moral duty to give some of our wealth
to the government to help those who
cannot help themselves.
So think about it, you are taxed on the money you earn and if you die you are taxed on the money you attempted to save
to pass on to your heirs. My question is
why or how did Lautenberg get elected?
Are the people in New Jersey smarter than to elect a politician who endorses
Theft?

tony stapleton is right about the middle-class and farmers being the hardest hit. The "living trust" is no more than a fiction created by lawyers to avoid this tax. The entire tax system is too complicated and is biased in favor of those who create complicated systems of legal entities to own what are essentially personal or family assets.

How smart could the people of NJ be with high crime and strict gun control, or that their cost of living is around double the natl. average and they religiously elect democrats who want to raise taxes (HELLO!?)?

If it was up to me, I'd make NJ a toxic waste dump everywhere but Cape May and the Pine Barrens.

You know, New Jersey is a beautiful state with beautiful hilly landscape and centrally located between fast-pace NY and the more relaxed PA country-side. Not to mention all of the great things that it has within it's own boarders such as the Jersey shore, Atlantic City, etc. However, having lived there for nearly four decades before moving, I am convinced that it has the most BACKWARD laws in the whole nations. Other states may be catching up (such as California with gun registration) but NJ was FIRST with this craziness.
