Franchi AL 48 in 20 gauge

I've owned one since 1978 - an I/C 24" VR model - and @ 5lbs have found it to be one of the best birdguns I've ever had the pleasure to own/use.

I was recently lucky enough to get a 2nd, in a raffle - a new 20ga AL-48 Deluxe with 26" VR bbl & choke tubes - and while it's certainly more versatile than the birdgun. it's also very marginally heavier by maybe a half-pound. :D

I ended up using the Franchi more than my Rem 1100 20ga Special Field, and a pumpgun I've had forever.

FWIW, I've yet to have issue one, with either AL-48.

I've had an AL 48 in 20 guage since the mid 70's. Mine has a 26 in vent rib with IC choke. I absolutely adore this gun for bird shooting and close rabbit hunting. It is very light to carry and swings like an extension of my body.

I just started looking for a 2nd barrel for it in either modified or full choke or perhaps one with screw in tubes if they aren't too expensive.

Buy it, shoot it, and you'll fall in love with it.

Got one. Love it.

For some reason I shoot it better than any of my other shotguns. Mine has the straight stock.

I have one and love it. It's ideal for those walk lots/shoot a little upland hunts. It's light, points well, and is very reliable.
