Obviously, with your gun's aluminum receiver, traditional touch-up chemicals for gun steel won't work. I'd stay away from auto paint, you'll be a lot happier with a gun-specific finish like Brownells' Aluma-Hyde for the whole receiver, or Birchwood-Casey's Aluminum Black for touch up work.
Zippy13; I don,t know really, I think it,s both, I find a lot of things like that, I tryed to order a free catalog, NO, but they will let me buy a gun of them. go figure
Long ago, I was surprised when I learned that Brownells catalog was free. But, I guess there are limits. Do you ever get down in the Lower 48?
Do they have the Dupli-Color line of auto paint up in NL? I'm concerned that anything you spray will fall prey to a gun solvent. I recently did an engine swap in my truck and used various hi-temp paints and some preformed well below the manufacturer's claims.
Is the BW Aluminum Black liquid available in your area (are you on the island or mainland)?
I am on the island, can,t get nothing here like that, if i have a store that can get it , it costs 3 times the worth, i.m tellen you it sucks, i,m payen 55 for 25lb lead shot, 50 for 14oz clays powder, it,s madness down here. I paid $40 for a Lee Safty Scale.
