I picked up another model 12 today. This one I think is kinda rare. It is sr # 18573XX standard grade, has a 26" improved cylinder barrel with a vint rib. I hardly ever see one with that combo.. All numbers match and I believe the rib is Winchester, I would rate this gun at 95% at the least. Anyone have any info on a this model.......It's gonna be a keeper.....

It is easy to determine if the rib is original, simply look for the proofmarks on the reciever and barrel. They can be located near each other where the barrel meets the reciever. The proofmarks are ovals with an intertwined W and P. If no proofmarks exist then the rib is an aftermarket, as these proofs were directly on top and the rib would cover them up. On original ribbed guns the proofs were offset on the left side of the rib.

Must be aftermarket, The marks are there BUT they are on top of the barrel and reciever under the rib, With a flashlight I can see the mark on the barrel. The rib has two beeds and square posts. There is NO markings on the rib. The barrel is marked improved cyl.
