At a local shop today I found a Colt Trooper MK III in 90-95 % condition. The gun felt really good in my hands and has a 6 inch barrel. The cylinder felt tight and everything seemed to work OK. The only problem I found with it is a small area at the tip of the barrel where the blue has rubbed off some. He want $299 for it. Is this a good gun and is he asking too much? It had a hi-vis green front sight on it. Is the MK III an OK gun and is $299 too high? I am going to check gun broker.com in a few minutes but would appreciate any input.

Depending on the actual condition, that's a good price.

The Trooper Mark III was the first in a series of Colt revolvers that were used to replace the older Colt guns like the Official Police and original Trooper.

This series included the Mark III guns, the Mark V, and the King Cobra.

These are hell-for strong guns, and are an excellent, top-quality revolver.
