Wow,
I am at a Ford dealership in St Augustine,FL. and
connected to their WI Fi.
Tried to access the forum.
It is blocked, "firearm related".
Wow, very surprised and disappointed.
How many hunters drive Ford trucks - just for a start?
In freedom loving Florida?
Uh, oh, I've been driving Ford trucks for the last 21 years.
Hopefully, it's just the policy of that one dealer.
Time to look elsewhere for that new car?
If so, tell them why.
We haven't even stepped inside a K-Mart since they started their anti-gun nonsense.
Too bad, 'cause we used to shop there a lot, including gun stuff, once upon a time.
Don't forget a lot of these places don't have an IT Department doing this stuff intentionally. They pay some service who gives them a cookie cutter package.
Jim's right- these web filter systems come with various options. I think some folks just leave them with everything blocked. My Jeep dealer even blocks sports and shopping sites- want to browse Amazon or ESPN? Too bad.
The luxury car dealer where my wife's car is serviced is less stringent, but still errs to the "safe" side.
Funny thing though- neither of them block TFL, even though they block other sites because they're in the "weapons" category. Go figure.
Antigun and anti dirty picture blocks are options on many system wide virus/firewall systems. They are automatically in place as a default in some installs for businesses.
I bet you are right.
First time I experienced it.
BTW
The service dept was excellent!!!
They really squared me away.
Big plus - they are right next to Gander Mountain I-95 and St road 16.
Shopped while I waited
This store has a HUGE selection of firearms and bulk ammo.
I always find it interesting that it tends to be the dead, decaying rot of business that take up ridiculous causes like being anti-gun. I have a K-Mart near my house and just love walking into K-Mart to watch 10 employees try and hide from the 4 customers searching about to find things to buy on its dust-covered shelves.
