Something happened to me this week that I felt like sharing with y'all, 'cuz you're all so huggable ! (Not really, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! :p )

In some "official correspondence" by email I had with my manager at work, I casually mentioned that I had purchased an AR-15 the previous week. He responded that he had some 30 rd magazines that he doesn't need. I asked how much he wanted for them, and he said he would give them to me! :cool: In summary, I will be getting an as-yet-unspecified number of pre-ban 30rd AR-15 mags for nothing! :cool:

Anyone have a general idea of what the gun show price for such items would be? I believe it's typically $70+. I'm curious to see how much I'd be saving myself.

Friend, have you been paying attention here? Don't you get it? We're GUN NUTS! We're Neanderthals, knuckle draggers, pistol packers, triggerheads .... you know - gun nuts!

Don't you dare tell anyone we're huggable. Took us years to cement the reputation we've got, buddy! ;)

Hey! Some of us are very huggable! :D

Congrats on the mags, Jedi. They go for about $30 - $35 around here, unless you lose your mind and try to get them at Don's Guns. Last time we were in there, he wanted about $80 for AR, A-K, and SKS 30 round mags. :eek: Don can be quite proud of his crap ... I mean, his merchandise. ;)

While I don't exactly need an AR-15, Glamdring, I wanted one because it's mighty difficult to hit a target with a lightsabre from 200 yards away, even for me. ;)

Yes, it is. He's former Army, and apparently has quite a collection himself. I'm a night supervisor at my company, and on my shift I also have a squid and two jarheads. One of the Marines is a class 1 certifiable gun nut, so I spend a lot of time when I should be working talking about guns instead! :o One of the day shift techs is also a gun nut, so here it is overall a very non-PC working environment. My employer has the usual disarmed employees policy to appease the insurance pukes, but otherwise I'm not exactly regarded as a psycho due to my gun habit. Instead, I'm a psycho because I like Star Wars (duh) and other sci-fi, I play Magic:The Gathering and AD&D, I read Tolkien aand stuff like that...

Can't we all just get along? :D

Dennis, it's too bad you're down in San Antone, else I'd say submit a resume. You could look for our online job postings somewhere at our web site, but unless you know anything about field repair, radio transmitters, etc, I doubt I could help you. :( Why should the 25% of us who make effective use of our grey matter be forced to exist in the same universe with the other 75% who don't? Got me.

Nice to see another AD&D player. I'm DMing a planescape game right now. My players are driving me crazy though. Later, byerly.

UPDATE: I took delivery of my magazines today- I got two(2) 30 rnd magazines, in well used condition, for the price of $0.00. Since I only have 60 rnds of 5.56mm at home, but two 10 rnd and (now) two 30 rnd mags, I guess it's time to acquire more ammo! :D
