forgoing all options under $1k... a threaded 1911 search

I have had no less than 20 1911's in the past 3 years and currently am holding a Remington R1 Enhanced Threaded and a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. I'm looking to trade up on some guns and then thin the herd of superfluous items, going down to about half of my current collection size.

So if we eliminate EVERYTHING Kimber makes, and all options under $1k street (Sig, Remington, Magnum Research, Ruger, etc) and we make the requirement list as follows, what options would you nominate?

5" Government
Factory threaded match barrel
High night sights
Dust cover Picatinny rail
.45ACP
Single stack
Aggressive checkering to use with gloves (20LPI, nothing above 25) front strap and mainspring
Either magwell beveled for funnel or an actual magwell

For instance, I'm looking at an STI Tactical SS 5.0 TR. Price needs to be sub $2500 new, street priced. Any assistance appreciated!

Colt that filed bankruptcy and hasn't made anything worth buying since my Pythons were produced? No thanks. Their QA sucks in the past 10 years and that gun is ugly as hell, not to mention expensive for what it is and not threaded.

Colt issue/quality past several years. Details please. My Gold Cup and Python from the 80s suffer very off/poor symmetry of left/right sides as if they didn't give a hoot. Varies much from gun to gun. Otherwise they are fine.

So much misinformation in one short post.

you're getting OT, and none of that is misinformation. fact and opinion, sure.

they make two types of guns, and are competitive in neither market. the only people that buy Colt are the ones that want a Colt.

Look at the NightHawk pistols. Might be a little over your proposed budget, but they are awesome pistols. Their AAC package pistol sounds like its just what you are looking for

i did also find that one last night. as well as a christensen arms titanium frame, the latter being beyond the amount i'm to put out right now.
