;)

Well, I found a Sig P239 so I think I'll pick that up instead of the P11. After all that time researching Kel-Tec, now I have to start all over with Sig. ;) Maybe you guys can gimme a head start. Is their a good site dedicated to the Sig P239 like the k.s.o.g. forum? Any mods., accessories that are a must? Thanks!!!

BTW, I noticed this baby is only 8+1 while the Kel-Tec is 10+1. Is the P239 a lot smaller than the P11? I have rather large hands. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

the only Mod I found that was a must on my 239 was a hogue finger groove rubber grip, it makes all the difference in the world.

The 239 is quite a bit larger than the P11, they are 2 different animals all together. If you have large hands the 239 will fit you much better than the KT. Dont sweat the capacity, if you need more than 8 rounds of 9mm you need to look for a rifle, not a highcap pistol anyway. KT does make a good "belly gun" but the 239 will fill more roles for you. That KT is no fun at the range after about 50 rounds, I can shoot a sig all day.

Good decision! And now when someone asks what you carry, you can say, "I carry a Sig." Saying, "I carry a Kel Tec", doesn't quite have the same effect.

The Sig239 is an excellent gun. It and the Keltec do not however fit in the same niche. The 239 is not a large gun but it`s much larger and twice as heavy as the Keltec. If it fits your needs it should serve you well. FWIW though, for pete sake don`t let what someone will say when you tell them what brand of gun you carry have any influence on your choices. Who the hell cares. Just pick the gun that will fit your needs the best. Marcus

I purchased a Sig P239 back in January, have put about 1,000 rounds thru it and absolutely love the thing. The Houge finger groove grips really added a great feel to it. It definately out shoots me. What a tack driver! You won't be disappointed in this gun.

Best Regards :D

Wise choice. Excellent pistol.
Would second the recommendation to install a set of Hogue Monogrips. Makes a great pistol even better.

shot a Kel-Tec the other nite..

It was a smaller frame in 40 S&W, DAO. Don't remember the model number.

It was perhaps the most miserable handgun I've ever shot. Trigger pull was worse than awful. Recoil was painful. The guy was a newbie and could barely keep on the paper. He shot my 1911 and did fine.

I'm not anti Kel-Tec (I carry a P-32), but this one was BAD.

I know there's lot of opinions, but have you tried a 1911?? I let maybe a dozen different guys shoot my Springfield. Everyone does well. Trigger has been reduced to a crisp 3 pounds. Guys can have Glocks', Sig's, Beretta's, etc. immediately start shooting better groups

Just a thought.

KT makes the modern derringer, so to speak. The P-11 and P-40 are belly guns. They are inexpensive, lightweight, and compact, and have great capacity for their size. They ARE NOT range guns. They are designed to give you affordable firepower that you can easily have with you when needed. The trigger pull is easily smoothed out, if you aren't blind, and can halfway follow instructions (hell, I did it). The P-11 and -40 take practice to shoot well, but are very accurate intrinsically.

Don't know about forums regarding the P239,

but you made a wise decision, my friend. The Sig P239 is
a much better firearm than a Kel-tec; even if it does cost
a little more.

I've had both

I've had both..."had"...because I still have my Sig 239 .40. Kel-Tec is a great gun for the money, and the company is good to work with, BUT....after all the "fluff and buff" and the trigger shoe, and the mag base....I still couldn't get beyond the lenghth of the trigger pull. I smoothed it out quite alot and lightened it up....but it was still along way. Good choice...maybe later you can add a kel-tec to your collection.

Jackyl: Congratulations on your newfound wealth! (There's a HUGE price difference between any Kel-Tec and SIG.) But the SIG price is worth it IMHO. I own a Kahr P9 Covert, but the many times I've shot any SIG I've been very impressed. However, the 239 is too large and heavy for my concealment need, and I think the 239 is the smallest SIG available.

Ditto the comments on the Hogue grip. It was the best thing I ever did. If you have big hands like me, the factory grip is a bit short. The Hogue adds just a bit to it, but it feels soooo much better.

Ive got the .40. It comes in 9mm ,40 S&W and .357 Sig.

The 9mm holds 8+1 the rest hold 7+1. Not bad for a small piece.

Good job! Bless you ma man. Sig is a great little handgun. If you get one (or if you presently own one) you should be quite happy with it's performance.
