Forester Coax Thread Size

Can someone tell the what thread is used on the ball (on the short handle) is for the Forster Coax press? I want to thread a different ball for the handle.

I took off a short handle and can't find it... rats.

I made a handle for one of those co-ax presses.
Don't do what I did and use 4140 RC28 round stock lying around.
It is too heavy.
You should make it from a tube, to get the weight right so it has the right equilibration.
Both the Forster and the Bonanza use 1/4-28 set screws driven with 1/8" Allen wrench.

I don’t really want to take the knob off of mine to measure the threads, but since you will have the knob off of yours anyway, a thread gauge might be a good investment. Sounds like you’re going to thread the ball yourself, which hints at you being a machinist, hobby variety at least. Surprised you don’t already have one of these.

I'm just a hobbyist (a really good one :)) that knows how to drill a hole and tap it. I just need to know what size tap to get. I could get thread gauge but don't see much use for it later. The other way is to take the existing ball to the hardware store and match it up with a bolt, just thought I would ask here first.
