Forehand and Wadsworth 22 Side Hammer Question

Hello

Just purchased a F&W 22 Sidehammer serial# 32428. It has a side port cut in the left side of the deflection shield, the cylinder pin is different than the few I can find online, and it does not have a screw in the hammer. The hammer is solid and funtions correctly. I took a close up of the hole in the hammer and do not see threads. The few pictures available online with a serial number are a much lower range. Has mine been modified for side loading, the screw lost, and pin replaced or is it a different later variant than the typical side hammer?

Thank you
Scotty

I’ve got a couple Allen side hammers. Hammers on Square Shaft with large head screw threaded into shaft. No experience with your model F&W.

It's been modified. The hammer looks pressed on. Maybe the threads were stripped and this was a smith's remedy.
