foregrip play

I've tried to find a way to fix this before with no luck but I have to ask. Does anyone know a good way to stop or at least lessen the play in the foregrip of a mossberg 500? I don't see how it would be possible but thought someone might be more creative than me. The play makes the gun feel so cheap.

It's not too bad...not more than its supposed to. I just would love to make it feel solid, like an 870. Im not trying to compare these to guns and I know that the foregrip play is a part of mossbergs design however its seems there is room for improvement. The problem comes from the gap left between the slide bars and where they enter the frame. I was just curious if anyone had tried to weld some extra metal on the bars or come up with a less "potentially damaging" way to address the problem.

Mossberg 500 Slop

I agree. Way to much play in the forend assy. It's almost painfully sloppy after just shooting my 870 Wingmaster. I was looking at maybe beefing up the forend grip with teflon or phenolic strips where it will contact the sides of the barrel. Something slippery so it won't scrape the finish off of the barrel.
Maybe there is an aftermarket forend just for this. I also get binding and sticking during fast action due to these thin action arms.
