Forearm replacement

I have a forearm that has to be replaced. Half of the wood is missing and in order to use the forearm as a guide to be placed in a stock duplicating machine I need to make the other half from bondo and balsa wood. Does anyone out there have any experience on how to do this job? Thanks Deadeyeontarget

You can try doing the whole thing from plastic wood, which is not strong enough for a permanent fix but should do for what you need. It can be shaped before drying and sanded afterward. Bedding compound is another possibility; it is strong enough for a permanent fix but would not look very good.

You can mock one up from papier-mache, bondo, balsa, a piece of old firewood, etc. All you need for a duplicator is a pattern, it doesn't have to be strong.
