for those with Star Model 30 M (9mm Luger), who shoot their pistol

As you know, Star is out of business, it has been so for some years now, making parts somewhat hard to find. Such is life, however there is hope respecting some aspects, in particular Recoil Buffers, which could well save frame battering.

While their catalog does not so state, the Recoil Buffers offered by Buffer Technologies for the CZ 75 fit on and function with the Star Model 30 recoil spring guide rod assembly.

I've been told that these assemblies do not come apart. That might be the case with some, however every one, exccept for one unit, that I've ever come upon do disassemble, so recoil springs, if you can find or make any can be changed out, and the above mentioned recoil buffer can be installed. It's really a simple fix, and it could save a pistol from being beaten to death, where a piece is fired much.

Buffer Technologies fills orders quickly too, I ordered some on Monday, they arrived U.S. Mail today. The above information might help some, in any case, there is no charge.

Oh, I don't know? Some cases will no-doubt get a charge out of it.

As has been noted by others, "a pun sir, is the lowest form of humor", or perhaps touche.

It might help someone, somewhere.

That could be useful information to me since I have a Star 30, 31P in .40, 31PK, and a Megastar in .45 that is based on the 31. Although, I doubt you will do any damage to the model 30. There have been model 30 pistols that have had 100,000 rounds through them without a problem.

Once upon a time, I heard, saw reference to the Model 31, they were supposedly offered in both 9mm and 40 S & W , however I never actually saw any of them. Ditto for the Megastar, though I had seen a couple of small, all steel, single stack Stars in 9mm, don't recall the model number or name, one would just about fit in the palm of your hand.

As to 100,000 rounds through Model 30M's, I've so heard, however in my experience, and this is with a single pistol, my own, firing almost exclusively cast bullets at around 125 grain, at velocities of between 1050 and 1100 ft/sec, not expecially hot loads I think, I have still noticed peening or upset of frame recoil abutments, not a desirable situation.

In any case, since discovering that Buffer Technologies recoil buffer offered for the CZ 75 will fit and function in my Star Model 30, I will use them, especially since they aren't especially expensive. Then, other things aside, where might one find Star spares these days, especially frames?

Should you try the Buffer Technoligies product, I hope that they work for you. Thanks for your input and good luck.
