Look at the single shot muzzle loading target rifle on the back cover. It's the one on the very far right. Looks conventional with a grip and trigger where you'd expect it to be, but on the forearm is a foregrip with its own trigger and trigger guard. What's going on here? I'd like it explained.

It sure does look odd. I had never noticed it before and, while they give the details of the endpapers, there is no information on the dust jacket.
It looks to me like something worked up for a person with a handicap, with the front trigger actually firing the gun and the normal trigger and guard just left as they were. I admit I can't think of a handicap that would required such an arrangement, but that is the only thing I can think of.

I'm going down to the den to look. Any chance the rifle has two barrels and the fore arrangement releases the barrels to pivot??
