i started muzzleloader hunting with a traditions trapper carbine. in .50 ca. sidelock #11 percussion cap ignition. since 2001 i use a traditions 209 inline with scope. shooting 100 grains of pellet type pyrodex with lead conicals in 250 grain. now i am going to use a 240 grain sabot.

I've shot 250 grain bullets 2400 FPS out of a Savage using smokeless powder with a 4 1/2X14X50 Leupold. Kind of defeats the purpose. I use an old Thompson Renegade Hunter with a Green Mountain barrel. I do have a 4X Nikon, but other than that it's plain.

Shooting a T/C White Mountain Carbine in a 54. right now, very shortly I'm going to pick up my T/C Pro Hunter (camo/stainless) and have a brand new Leupold 3x9x40 VXII stainless waiting to go on top!
