For those of us that live in "non-CCW" states...

I would be curious to know what percentage of (otherwise) "law-abiding gun-owners" (non-LEO) carry concealed weapons in states where CCW permits are not available. I'm not asking for confessions here, just anyone who "knows a guy that knows a guy" kind of stuff. This is certainly something that I never plan on doing personally, but I am just curious.

It is kind of an interesting conundrum when you think about it. As someone whose never been "frisked" in my entire life (outside of the airport terminal anyway), I would have to say that the most likely way of "getting caught" would be if you actually have to use your weapon against someone, which is really the only reason to carry in the first place.

Comments?

I know when I lived in NY.. if you had to use the firearm, you had a good chance of serving longer than the perp!!!

Jesse, would say it's a fraction of a percentage. Depends on the situation.

I was in Daleyland for 3 years. I carried only when I deemed it extremely necessary. Of course, I was a felon was having firearms in Chicago in the first place.
