Okay, I'm dating myself here but FIRST, does anybody remember a half hours TV show from the late 60's/early 70's called NYPD (I think that it lasted only one season)? IF SO, then does anybody remember what weapons they fired? Colt .38 snubbies?

Thats not that Barny Miller show is it?

You might laugh in the face of FEAR... but unless your armed, its a nervous, unconvincing, little laugh.

I think Jack Warden was the boss on that show. Leslie Nielson`s "Police Squad" had the same type opening with the bubble gum light. Remember "Naked City"? It was before "NYPD".
"Naked City" was around 1961. The reason I remember is they used a `61 Pontiac Catalina 4door. Frank Corso was the name of one of the detectives. Harry Belavier (sp) was his partner. They all carried Colt DS with the unshrouded barrel or S&W model 36`s. .32 Cal was authorized at that time too. Weird the stuff you remember.
More info. The actor John McIntyre was the squad whip on "Naked City"
I thought "NYPD" was on for more than one season but I can`t recall all that mch.
George; "Barney Miller" was the early `70`s

dinosaur, yeah that's the show I'm talking about. I remember the opening sequence with one of the detectives firing a snubbie with one extended hand. Isn't it amazing that back then the .32cal was approved for duty use and now I don't believe that it's even allowed for off-duty carry (only .380's and higher). Has anyone seen a web site for this show? Regards,
