For anyone with Marlins M70/795 series 22 rifles

Being an owner of a 1994 m70, Its been a nearly impossible to find
Hi-cap mags for the rifle. I used to have some of the factory plastic
15rder's but eventually the feedlips cracked and by then the
factory wasn't making any more. Well a couple of weeks ago
in my endless search of the internet for some old hi-caps
I found some 15 rounders at the "The WholeSale Hunter". So I bought
three....they are blue steel stick mags, not the plastic banana mags.
They seem to be built pretty tough the feed lips are a a mirror image the
the factory 7 rounders I have, and they have steel followers. While I had
no reliabilty issues with mine (even with hollow points, and rapid fire),
its easy enough to swap out marlins factory follower (I've tried it it works).

One more point these mags have the cut out channel for the newer
rifles like the 795, so the last shot hold open feature works. It also works
in the older rifles like mine (pre 1994 M70).

Here's the website
http://www.wholesalehunter.com/

Search the the rifle menu for Marlin .22 15rd. Theyre under National Magazines

I just wanted to put this out there for anyone else searching for the
same thing.........

Believe it or not, but Marlin actually cataloged a 15 round mag for the Model 70 papoose before the ban. They also fit the 795, as I have one of these older mags, and two 795 rifles. :)

Thanks for the magazine suggestion.

Since we're offering up suggestions for M795 replacement parts . . .

Maybe someone could suggest some replacement rear sights? The set on my M795 absolutely suck. I shoot just as accurately with them removed!

Really? I'd love to find them for my Papoose. It's a fun plinker, but I never got extra mags and releading 7 each time really gets old

I have a Marlin Model 70HC (High Capacity) that came with the Hi Cap magazine. Got the rifle for $50.00 but since I live in Calif the dealer traded me four 10 rounders for the hi cap magazine.
BTW this has been my favorite rifle of all time. Put my 10/22 to shame.

I know what you mean about the rifle....

I bought mine new in 1994 for 75 buck, almost 10K rounds have gone down
range since then with no discernable wear and no problems. I did replace
the springs at 5K, but not because they needed them. The only mods I did
to mine was to have it electroless nickel plated (My uncle owns a plating
business in FL so it was free :D ), replace the stock with the factory
synthetic, and install a simmons 22mag scope. Off a hasty rest at 50yds
with cci mini-mags I get .75 inch groups (I was able to get 1 " groups
at 100yds with the cci subsonic stuff of a friends outers rifle rest once).
I love the thing!!! :D

I got one of these rifles from a friend not to long ago and it was sitting in a closet for ten years so I cleaned it up and just yesterday I took it all apart and it was horrible and gritty and I found that my trigger guard was cracked such really sucked still looking around at them. There is a website that has good marlin m70 fifteen round for cheap

Everywhere else in the world, folks are having HUGE issues with those National Magazine 15-rd mags.
Check around...this is the only forum I've actually seen a good review of them.

The two I got from Numrich had to be heavily modified just to work. I rarely have to break out the Dremel, but these required it.
Mind you, I've got several box-mag fed Marlins to try 'em on.

I had an easier time making the 25-rd Champion mags work in my rifles...all I had to do was pillar bed the lot of 795's,
which I do anyway (anytime I make a stock change)...and they are perfect in my 989M2.
After adding a second mag bump, I could use them in my Marlin 56. Now that's USEFUL!
