Fooled on rifle buy

Awhile back I bought a grungy Stevens single shot bolt action 22 at auction. I
bought several guns. A retired friend of mine was with me. On drive home he
said he would clean the rifle up. The next day he called me and said I got good
news and bad news. The rifle cleaned up real good but it's a 25rf. Not a 22!
It put me down in the jaws until I got some ammo. That little 25 really whacks
squirrels. I would like to see how It shoots with scope but don't want to drill it.

Where did you find .25 rim fire?? Are you referring to the .25 Stevens Short/ Long or the .25 Bacon and Bliss??

I have enough trouble finding 22 LR (I have some now) but it took a long time and some postage (Midway). Finding 25 RF seems next to impossible.

25 Stevens long

Got a box of 25 Stevens longs off a guy that had a Stevens Favorite in 25 cal.
Back in 60s when we went on our yearly spring bear trip he would look in every
little store, gas station, ect. for odd ball ammo. CIL made a lot of cartridges long
after they were dropped by US companies. I had to trade box of 32 rf to get 25s.
I continued this practice into the 1990s, there was lot of guys that figured this
out. I would say Canadian ammo well has been milked out. I always leave my
left over ammo in Canada. You think we got it bad here buy ammo in Canada!
