folding stock?

I'm looking at purchasing a butler creek folding stock for a 10/22. According to my state laws (nj) I am not allowed to own or purchase a collapsible/folding stock firearm. What I'd like to know is it legal for me to own just the stock? I was thinking to disable the folding part by welding it solid, then transfer my 10/22 parts into the stock.

Well If it doesn't fold then it really isn't a folding stock anymore so it should be fine. I can''t think of any examples though.

you can buy the Bulter Creek folding "style" stocks that don't fold

Butler creeks are a lot better.... but ramline used to sell a

little widget that made their folders non folding. Sounds like you need a non folding stock to me.... at least until you can move. I like folders:
