Okay, Christmas is here and ive decided to reward myself with a new folding stock for my 870. I have a Knoxx CopStock right now, and although i love that it lets me shoot slugs one-handed all day, i dont really like the way it looks. Ive prettymuch rounded down my search to the ACE folding stock or the Sage International collapsible stock. I was also considering the AR stock adapter from Mesa Tactical but as far as i am aware this wouldnt allow the stock to fold. Ive looked at the pro's and con's of each choice.
Sage International stock
Pro's:
all-steel, very sturdy even when retracted
its unique and looks really coool
Con's:
tough to get a good cheek weld
im curious whether the shoulder pad can take the abuse of thousands and thousands of rounds
ACE stock
Pro's:
Allows a good cheek weld
Con's:
The receiver block that the grip and stock screw into is made of fiberglass or some similar type of material, can this withstand 12ga recoil indefinitely?
the stock doesnt lock when folded, a minor nuisance
My main concern is durability, and i expect the stock i choose to outlast me. So what do you guys think? If anyone has any experiences with one or both of these i would love to hear some feedback. Thanks
