Fobus mag holsters too tight!

Hadn't had this problem before, but I was doing some mag change, draw-and-load drills before the new season's first competitions in IPSC and as I drew out a mag from my Fobus holder, the entire paddle-holder came away from my belt rather than release the mag!! This happened several times.

This was after gingerly inserting them into the holder to begin with!!

Any suggestions for making them easier to draw?

A spot of Ballistol on the mag body, perhaps?

I had the same problem. I bought one because someone invited me to go shoot a competition that night and I had no mag holster. After trying to make it work, I wound up going back into the store and buying a soft one with velcro flaps and cutting the flaps off to make it open.

I wound up throwing the Fobus out in the yard and shooting it with a 22.....

What's it made of?

Plastic/Kydex type material.

The first match is tonight so I will do some drills beforehand and apply a thin coat (as if a thick coat were possible) of WD40 for the time being as I'll have no chance to source anything else.

I will also try to angle the carriers out a bit so they are not so tight against my side.

I'd wrap some electrical tape around the mags, jam them in, and then heat it with a hair dryer to try and stretch/reform the shape of the holders

Put a layer of paper under the tape to keep the glue off the mags

You could also try some paste wax on the mags

As a quick-fix tonight I used some gun lube lightly smeared across the mags. It seemed to do the trick. It also seemed to help if I forced the mags away from my body by stuffing a roller rag between the riveted tops of the paddles and my svelte, toned, athletic waist. (sometimes I love the internet!;))
