Fobus belt holsters

Hi people:

Yesterday I was browsing in the net searching for another type of holster for my weapon. I´ve already got a few ones (leather, nylon, kydex). I will have to say that you can burn down any nylon holster because they don´t let you holster one handed. :barf: The leather ones I own I´m happy with (Kramer) :) I stopped for a moment in the fobus website and took a look at their platic. They looked very, very good; but looks is not what is all about. What about comfort?? Are they really that good for concealed carry?? Or is this the kind of holster that will remain in the closet for the last 200 centuries??

Any opinions are welcome. Thank you very much.

I have a Fobus for my Glock 21. It isn't adjustable and easily broken. Fobus is very good about replacing them.

Uncle Mike's new Kydex is much better. It is sturdy, adjustable and the quality is first rate. They are relatively new and are made for just a few guns.

I have a few Fobus holsters. All of the paddle variety. I woudn't classify them as a holster to use for CCW. The gun is hanging on the outside of your belt, which I don't think lends itself to concealment. I am sure if you were wearing a heavy coat you could conceal, but why not use a better concealment holster. I don't think the holster was intended for concealment. I like them, and have never had a problem with them. But, I use them for guns that I don't intend to conceal. Guns that I carry around the desert or mountains. I also use them on the range with those particular guns.

I have a paddle and belt holster from Fobus. As 444 said, they really aren't a good thing for concealment.

My G21 and G19 both like their Fobus paddles very much! They're very secure when it comes to retaining the firearm, but they'll "give" it to you whenever you "ask".

Not for concealed carry at all, though, unless you wear a coat on a daily basis.

For $20 or so, I don't think you're going to do better.

I live in Seattle and wear a jacket most of the year. The fobus conceals my G-30, CZ-75, Firestar, S&W J-frame, and MAK quite well. Thank you very much. :p

I've got a fobus and a uncle mikes
paddle holster and prefer the fobus
because the gun fits better, the fobus
does not move after its on,easier to
draw from and its more comfortable to
wear. The uncle mikes looks to be of
higher quality but i think the fobus is
the better holster for my G-26 and ith a loose shirt on it concels very well :p

I have a Fobus C21 paddle holster, which fits both my P12 and SA Champion .45s. It's inexpensive, convenient to quickly mount and dismount the holster/gun, and holds the guns fairly securely.

The problem I have is that it's all too easy to move the thumb safety to the fire position inadvertently, since the thumb safety is exposed.

When you sit down in a car seat, the holster/gun muzzle is pushed up and the thumb safety is easily moved to fire position by rubbing against your side.

Recently, I reached down to check the thumb safety on my Para, and discovered it was in fire position.

I'll be replacing that holster with a paddle holster that features a shield for the thumb safety.

For IWB carry, I like Lou Alessi's Hard Shell Talon.

I use them for a Walther P99, PPK, and a Kimber. I like them a lot and have not have any retention problems. They hold tight until it's time to draw.

I have not have a problem with the safety issue on my Kimber. Sitting or walking, the safety has never accidentally been moved to the off position.
