FNX-45...to buy or not to buy?

Alright. So I can get one, brand new.. for $600.
My current CCW is a Glock 41 and I love it. Just looking for something a little shorter. Not cause I need it. I carry the 41 appendix just fine. But hell, who couldn't use another 45? I'd like to give it a try. The Glock 21 is out of the question. Hence the FNX-45 being the next up purchase. 15+1 with the FNX and 13+1 with the Glock 41. So not a big deal there. I can switch to DA/SA just fine. Also to and from striker fired. So the mechanism isn't an issue.

I carry at work. Which is a gun shop. I carry the Glock 41 there as well. So the FNX-45 would be for work as well.

My question. Who thinks I should get it?

I think you should get it, a man can never have too many firearms.....and who ever dies with the most toys wins.....:D

45 is 10rd, 45C is 8 rd or optional 10rd.

If you're open carrying at work, the full size is a good bet. Excellent ergos and awesome sight radius. Accuracy that rivals custom 1911's. You don't need 13 or 15rds. The FNX is a fat, fat pig.

The capacity is the ONLY thing that could be considered a downside on the HK 45. It's ergos are pretty much unparallelled in the 45 space. And with $200 back right now... you can't go wrong.

You already have the P30, so you know what's up.

Oh, and for what it's worth, all 3 of my HK 45 mags hold 11 rds in the mag with no modification and function just fine that way. It seems they were actually made that way... not sure why they are listed as only holding 10.

That's pretty awesome. But I really am (as you know) a capacity slut.

And yes I know I know. I should have gone with the HK 45 instead of the P30. I feel like selling the P30 or trading it for an HK 45.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I think the P30 is wonderful as well... You just need to grind off that trigger groove.

I'll never get how that bothers people. How does one's finger rub the trigger guard on such a curved trigger?

I don't understand how someone's doesn't. The bottom of the trigger runs several millimeters down into the groove. The left side where the tip of the fingers comes through sits perfectly to slide right along the relatively sharp edge. If they had just given it a better radius it would be a non issue, but there are certainly plenty of people whom it bothers.

Skip the FNX-45 capacity is the only thing that it has going for it. Well that and maybe price. Not that I am a HK fan but I gave up on the FNX & FNP pistols a while back.

I'm not denying that there are people that it bothers, just with my finger placement and size I have never found it to be a problem and I can't see how I would. Just thinking out loud. Woo-sa.

To Buy!

I got the FNX-45 and it is a great full size gun, you should get it. I fill in part time at a LGS and the FNX is what I carry, with 15+1 on demand most roles should be covered, if not then you need a rifle. Plus its alot cheaper than the HK stuff.
