I went to a local gun show yesterday. All handgun ammo, except 22LR, has been sold out locally for a few months, and I've been running low on 9mm ammo.
So I wanted to pick up some bulk 9mm FMJ ammo for the range. The cheapest there was S&B 124gr. aluminum jacketed at $109.95 for 500 rounds, but I didn't want to get aluminum jacketed ammo. The cheapest brass jacketed was UMC 115gr. $116.95 for 500 rounds. The kid working behind the counter said it was FMJ, but when I got it home, I noticed it was actually FNEB ammo.
This stuff is in a green box (10 boxes inside a cardboard box, so I did not notice the green boxes until I got it home and opened it). On the box it says "Leadless 9mm Luger 115gr. FNEB". FNEB stands for "Flat Nosed, Enclosed Base". On the back of the box, it says, "Performance-optimized for indoor range conditions", "solid lead core protected by thick copper jacket", "Enclosed base virtually eliminates airborne lead at firing line", and "full-length copper jacket".
Has anyone here heard of or used FNEB ammo before?
