FN vs Interarms/Zastava action dimensions.

Looking around for a new stock for a Zastava mauser action and noticed boyds offered only a semi inlet stock for the interarms. However the majority of their designs are available finished for a FN 400

Aren't those the same action just different manufacturers? So shouldn't I be able to order an FN stock and use it on my Zastava action?

The FN 400 action should be the same as the Interarms Mark X. There are minor differences in the floorplate dimensions and barrel contour, but the action is the same.

I've used Zastava actions to assemble several rifles with stocks from various makers. It depends on what you expect. If you demand a perfect fit in all areas, NONE of the off the shelf stocks are going to meet those expectations. The stocks made to "fit" a wide variety of military type actions are going to be "generous" in several dimensions. "Drop in" fit is another description of "sloppy" fit.
The Zastava actions are close to or same size as other commercial 98 Mauser type actions.
