FN Special Police Rifle

Anyone have any experience with this new rifle? I'm trying to find out what kind of accuracy one can expect. The specs look good, but it has a chromed barrel. Not sure what to make of that other than it's a European rifle. Thanks.

I've seen it at a trade show, but they didn't bring it out on the range day. The first thing which struck me was that it wasn't based on the familar Mauser 98 type action. Rather, the "classic" Winchester M70 bolt action with its controlled feed was used. Second, the stock I was told was by McMillan. For being a "European" product, it has a lot of "American" heritage.

I just looked at one last week. Has Winchester and FN combined forces? I thought it was a Model 70 at first. The bolt looks like a mix of the Mauser and the Model 70.
Too me not as beautiful as the 700.

I saw a shotgun marked FN that was simply a Winchester 1300 defender. So it would seem that FN and Winchester have some sort of agreemant. Anyone know the details?

welp,
Guess that last post pretty much sums it up. Guess this thing is too new to really have any accuracy results back yet. Thanks for the info folks as I had not even seen one up close.

Regards

FN SPECIAL POLICE

Gent's, A humongous french company called ( GIATT), or somewhere's close to that name, has purchased USRAC (Winchester), and FN )Fabrique Nationale), and Browning...........
The FN Spec Police, is nothing more than a model 70, matte finish, detachable magazine.......in a HS Precision stock, with a C L bore, and has made in the USA stamped all over the barrel, by USRAC............
Now, the rest of the story.......as Paul Harvey would say it....has been told.
BTW, the rifle is a neat set up, and they claom 1/2moa accuracy w/ match grade ammo..........
Only one major drawback.....the detach mag is the slowest thing on planet earth to load....took me at least 20-30 seconds just to load it..........witj 4 rounds..
It is the weakest link.

They bought Winchester and Browning? I'm getting real concerned that more and more US gunmakers are coming under foreign control. Seems like it's getting closer for the UN to be able to cut off all civilian gun sales. These foreign countries don't have a second amendment.

No joke. It bothers me quite a bit as well. It's not like having the ability to produce your own small arms is an issue of national security, much less that problematic 2nd ammendment. Anyone know any good gunsmiths? ;)

huh. I'm surprised how many people do not know about Browning and Winchester/USRAC. They have been owned by GIAT for a few years now. They, GIAT, had also, at one time, owned a chunk of Beretta. There was even some cross marketing between Browning and Beretta back then. (Beretta blowback semi-autos sold as Brownings.)

Roger that on what Tshoes posted. Maybe someday we can get to the bottom of why BOSSes were available on M70s then all of a sudden they weren't.
