FN SLP MKI....AKA Old Winchester, Good Deal?

Its being offered to me for $700.

Its a few years old and comes with with case, manual, 1 choke, and 1 piston. The owner said it was one of the first FN/Winchester models so it does not come with 2 pistons and 2 chokes like the new FNs do.

Does this sound like a good deal for the FN?

I'm looking for a trap semi auto. I have a new mossberg 500 persuader so the 18.5" barrel and pistol grip dont and arent allowed at ranges.

That's a good price, but why would you want a semi-auto for trap shooting? It's the one shooting sport that doesn't require a second shot. And, trap shooters get irritated when pelted by an auto-loader's ejected shells. IMHO, you're better off looking for a trap specific gun that fits you like a glove.
 
Good point. I just like the idea of a semi auto shotgun and 'might' sell my Mossberg as the FN could be double duty as home defense and trap. I heard many go skeet and hunting with the FN also.

If its any constellation and do have an old Savage/Montgomery Wards 12ga side by side thats nearly 4ft long my grandpa gave to me. Its so damn long though hahaah. I think I just want something new :D
