FN Police Rifle in .308??????

I'm waiting until FN copies Remington and brings out a 20" barrel version with standard bottom metal...

I've only read one account where it was disgustingly accurate like .32" groups which surprised everyone because of the chrome bore...

What I want to know is it built on a long action or a short action?

Barrel : 25.8 in
Trigger : heavy at 5.8 lbs
Fulton Armory sells them for $995.00
Built on Winchester model 70 action

This info is from this months Gun Tests.

Mine shoots between ~.5" to .6" with Federal Match 168's. The rifle is a Winchester M70 short action with a pre-64 type bolt(positive feed type) with a 4 shot magazine. The trigger needs some work...but it adjusts the same way a regular ol' M70 does.
I haven't tried any other ammo yet but I expect it to shoot better with handloads. I think the barrel is a 1:12 .

Apparently the only FN made item is the barrel which are made from the same stock as the M240/MAG machine gun barrels. I hear FN is coming out with other versions(300 WSM & 338 Lapua).

For the price (~$750-$800) I think its a great "out of the box" rifle(IMHO) :D

So... for the $$ (about $800) which is a better rifle - 'out of the box'?

Please give me some insight as to the pros and cons with respect to Remington vs. FN

Barrel, stock, trigger, action.....
