FN Police 8 Shot Tactical info

just to start off with i am new to shotguns and know pretty much nothing about them.

im looking to get one for home defense and to use if i shoot in 3-gun matches. i was told about the FN police tactical shotgun and they have them for $270 so i though i would ask about them here.

any good or bad things to say about them? i know you get what you pay for and im not looking to waste any money, no matter how little it is.

also anything else you want to throw out there would be great, like i said, im new and know pretty much nothing about shotguns.

I don't have any experience with FN shotguns, but if it's an FN it's got to be allright. Since FN and Winchester (USRA) are one in the same these days, I'd bet the FN is basically a Winchester 1300 Defender. Which, by the way, is a pretty good weapon.
 
I've got one. It is basically the Winchester Defender 1300 with some nice additions. It has chokes, better finish. It is worth the money. I like it a lot. For the price, you are not going to go wrong.

Just my opinion, others will vary.
