FN Herstal semi auto police

Hi, anyone have any input on this shotgun? I have one I'm considering purchasing. I was told this is similar or the same as a Winchester auto? Thanks.

They are identical to the Win Super X2s. The difference being what company is stamped on the side. Got one a couple months ago in a package deal set up by a friend. It is yet unfired, however, as I've been concentrating on .22 lr at the range. (3 position) I purchased as Win Super X2 Practical Mk II last Saturday as it's been on my list for a while now and the merry-go-round with Winchester is iffy on whether they'd make Mark IIs anymore so went and bought it. Receivers are identical as is the extra gas regulator and LPA rear sights. No extra chookes for the Mk II but very nice rubberized stock on the Practical though (FN SLP gun comes with chokes). Also unfired. Big beefy guns. a little more substantial in size and weight than comparable Benellis, IMO.

Here is the SX2 under my Benelli M1Super90 Practical for size comparison.

Please post a review after you shoot it! I've been interested in the FN self loading police shotty for awhile, but it doesn't seem like there is much info on them. :D

My field test

Hey all, just got back from shooting this shotgun. First impression, very stout, well made. Easy to load, easy to shoot.
I ran 2 3/4" 00 buck - full magazine without fault. When I tried to mix in lighter loads it did have trouble cyling these. But this is not a bird hunter after all.
Again, all, ALL of the heavy rounds ran perfect - including rifled slugs. It is now sitting with 5 in it's belly ( 2 3/4" 00 buck).

As an auto loader it is awsome. A bit costly, but in my opinion I made a good investment for me and my family.

Good luck all ,and buy ammo...

If you ever get a chance to run some #1 through it, let me know how it goes. At what loads did it start to have trouble?

It ran into trouble with "Active" #8. Very light, cheap shells - I don't even know where I got them, they were just in the bottom of the bag and gave them a try. Your sugestion for the #1 will be next to try, I'll report how they run. John V.
