Flues Model Ithaca

I have a SxS 16Ga Flues Model Ithaca that I am in the process of restoring... I am trying to remove the butt stock from the action and have run into a problem. I have removed the three wood screws, rotated the trigger guard and removed the long machine screw. The butt will move about 1/2" to the rear and stops - and the tang safety rotates slightly upwards. But it is stopped.

Does anyone have any experience with the Flues Model Ithaca? Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

It's a little tricky

Removing the buttstock takes one more step. There is a short machine screw just in front of the triggers you need to take out, then carefully pull the bottom plate clear of the receiver. The triggers will come off with the bottomplate and give you the clearance you need. Just be careful pulling the bottom off, it's tight.
