Read some of the comments in that Florida Paper-seems some think it is OK to side step state preemption laws and local authorities can make their own laws simply by local charters.
I guess they don't think about the time a tyrant may come for something that is theirs-and considering it was OK to trash the Constitution on firearm laws it will be OK to take what they want on any thing else-whether it is against State laws or not
Simple minds never think about the consequences of other actions.
StPete mayor Kriseman (pictured in the article) closed the StPete Police Pistol Range to the public. I was a non-voting member for 15 years. Only police, current and retired had a vote. Kriseman appointed Holloway chief of police, both are very vocally anti-gun.
Florida passed a law quite a while back about this very issue. Seems our southern counties had instituted extra wait times to purchase guns without a CCW. The law states that county government cannot make pass enforce laws outside the scope of the state constitution with regards to gun laws. Shooting ranges and such are a whole different animal
Yeah DonP and since the Club is property of the city they can allow whomever they want on their property.
I was just pointing out StPete's council, mayor and chief of police are against citizen of the city being practice in handling firearms. Well, so is the current county sheriff and two past sheriffs.
When law enforcement's management is against you what can one do?
