Flintlock pistol with TJ initials

Are there any markings at all on the lockplate or on the barrel. There should, or at least could, be proof marks, which would definitely determine the country of origin. Look on the bottom of the barrel as well as the top.

I agree that the stock condition appears inconsistent with the metal condition, so either a replacement or a refinish is a possibility. I must say it is a good job, though.

Hey Jim,
Do you know how to disasemble the stock from the barrel? Will the pins in the stock punch right thru? (without destroying anything) There are no other markings I can see.
