Flash Holes

Do any of you clean the flash holes on any cases? I clean the primer pockets but not flash holes.

I have tried it. I'm not a pro shooter, and only have a cheap chrono. I noticed no discernable differences.

Lyman makes a nice flash hole deburring tool to cut away burrs and uniform all flash holes.

They tend to blow themselves clean, I think. While you can certainly find carbon lining the flash holes, I've never noticed that it was able to build up appreciably.

I "clean" flasholes with an old horseshoe nail, poking out tumbling media that gets stuck in them. I don't do anything else to flasholes, never had any reason to.

Ditto per above though I use a Lyman 223 Trim Tool that has the perfect tip.

I've seen cleaning media get stuck in the flash hole too. You need to check, but it comes right out without any fuss. I have an assortment of pointy things, but no 'old horse'. Snicker.
