I was reading the stats on the guys running and doing my best to avoid knowing what party they belong to before I read their stand on the issues.
Jim Davis IMMEDIATELY lost any further consideration by me as soon as I saw this as a platform point:
"Jim Davis will fight for African-Americans"!!!
I mean , What the hell is THAT????
Shouldn't he be fighting for ALL Americans????
I don't want any politician in office that singles out ANY one group for special attention!
Pandering little punk!
Gee! I wonder what his party affiliation is?

Not to worry----Crist should easily handle Davis when it comes to the Governors race. Davis is far too left and Crist while listed as a Republican is really pretty much middle of the road and "just" to the right IMO.

MoW,
I read all of their stats, and Crist looks far mor impressive than the others.
ESPECIALLY Davis!
I still can't believe, in todays PC environment and push for "equal" rights, that a candidate would publicly select one racial group as the one he's gonna "fight" for!
Just got me riled!

As a Gunner I'm for Charlie Crist. His opponent Gallagher's TV ads say he is pro-choice and pro-Gay. Any truth in that?

Crist's response to the negative ads
On civil unions, Crist has said, "I don't oppose them." He hasn't said he will seek laws allowing them. Crist does support a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
On abortion, Crist repeatedly calls himself "pro-life." He also says, though, that he will not seek to change laws to restrict access to abortions. If the Legislature passes a bill banning the procedure, he said he will sign it if it allows exceptions in cases of rape, incest and when the mother's life is in danger.

Gallager's ads also show him walking with Bush and pledging to govern in the tradition of Jeb, who he once compared to Fidel castro

Other lawmakers don't think much of Gallger either
"He has been a pro-tax, pro-choice, pro-gambling, anti-Second Amendment liberal his entire career. His recent attempt at an 'extreme makeover' into a conservative will not fool the voters," Fasano said.{Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey}

I still have problems with his immigration stand, but then what do I really know, and McCain's endorsement
