FL CCW requirements?

I was looking into a Florida concealed weapon license, and I noticed that FL has a training requirement. Do any of you know what that training requirement is? Does a Hunter Education certificate work?

I tried searching here, at www.packing.org, and at the FL website, but I couldn't find an answer. I sent for their packet of information, but I'm too curious to wait. So, do any of you have any input for me?

Thanks a bunch.

They may have changed their training requirement. It used to be you (in my recollection) needed proof of a basic firearms training course, or proof that you are an experienced competitor (IDPA/IPSC match results, for ex, from several matches), or have another CCW from a state that requires training

THIS, from the above link:

Country Boy,
I used a Hunter education Certificate issued by the Missouri Wildlife Department.(10 Hour Class and Multiple Choice Exam) I applied for my Florida CCW License in December 1999 and got my permit on 2 Feb 2000 (took 72 days).
But please call or email and check with them. Their rules may have changed.
Regards,
Anand.

A hunter ed certificate will still work!

I have a brother in law who is taking the course just to qualify for the permit.
