First Target With New ROA

Fired the new Ruger today for the first time. Had our regular monthly club
shoot. First was high, I then turned the screw and lowered the rear sight all
the way down. First the next 9 shots. I believe it is going to be a shooter.

I've found my ROA loves 35 grns of both 3F Olde Eynsford and Triple 7, but I don't use fillers other than maybe a wad. This powder charge also works quite well with my 170 and 195 grn bullets as well.
 
I'm too old Steve to practice with it. I can barely hold it up. I'm only going to
shoot it in matches. I leave the loading lever off when I shoot to save on a little
weight. Might get the cylinder fluted to reduce weight more. Don't know yet.
 
Very nice! Great looking shooting iron and a very impressive target!

I won't even ask if this was a "one hand" or "two hand" hold . . . :D

If I remember correctly . . don't you shoot a Remington in competition? Which do you think you'll prefer . . . the Remmie or the ROA? That is certainly a beautiful pistol and looks like it is going to serve you well! :)

I shoot my Remington in the "As Issue" matches where you can't shoot a ROA. In the open revolver matches everybody shoots a ROA.
 
If you mean the one in the picture, it is a NRA 25 yard pistol target. In black
powder matches it is shot at 25 yards in all styles of pistols both slow fire and
timed fire. Revolver also. Same target is used at 50 yards except the "8" ring
is black also to give you a larger aiming point. The "10" ring is just slightly over
3 inches in dia. Most all matches are 10 shots. Hope this answers your question.
