First Straight with the .410

Yesterday at the gun club I finally shot my first straight with the .410 and a 95 with it on the day. The best thing about the straight though was that there were no chips at all. Every single break was about as solid as they came. This reassures me because I went to a shoot last month and shot a 32 out of 50 with it:barf: :barf:
Also on saturday I shot a 97 in the 12 and a 98 the next day.
I've only been doing this a year so it made me happy.
So this makes me very happy, just thought I would share

Well done, it's just a matter of time before 50, then 75, hopefully a 100.:D

I have run 100's in all gauges but the .410, dozens and dozens of 99's, but the 100 straight with the .410 has always eluded me.:( I don't shoot enough anymore to keep my scores that high, the occasional 50 with the .410 still happens, but maybe someday I will get back into competition and do it. Keep after it and remember there is no easy targets.

Congradulations, I shoot a lot of 410 and 28 too. Running straights with a 410 is a real accomplishment as they are none too forgiving if you are off just a little. You sure can't count on the "fringe" of a shot pattern to be a lot of help. So now,, get going on running your first 50. Good shooting

Hey ruger I see you are in Rochester and I have a question, Is the club up there nice?
I ask because there is going to be a sctp national shoot there this summer and my squad is hoping to win and get spotted by the olympic scouts. Just wondering on the club, our leadoff is Jon Michael McGrath the subjunior world champ. Just saying also I went out today and shot in a downpour with 20mph straight line winds and shot a 48. It was so bad stations 2 6 7 and 8 were all underwater:eek:

Skeetin': Which Club do you mean,,, posibly Rochester Brooks?? If so, it is a very nice club. There are several skeet and trap clubs in the general area. Man, I HATE shooting in the rain and wind,, but I do it as I figure it gives me a "leg up" on the guys that are only fair weather shooters. Besides, you never know what the weather is going to be like in compitition events (especially here) so I practice for the worst and hope for the best. I remember this winter it was blowing so hard that the low house birds would actually stop in front of #2 and the highs were still in the air all the way to the next field.... tough shooting that day. I didn't get a straight,, like I would expect too. I think I saw you on ShotgunWorld too. Great site,,, most of the time if you don't mind Winders and Case going at it, actually, I am beginning to enjoy the bickering..sick mind here.

Yeah Rochester Brooks.
Shotgunworld is nice I just tend to lurk around and read occasionally I will post, and the bickering there has nothing on the flame wars at my car forum, but those are fun in themselves.
