I've got a chance to get 1st shot at a collection coming on the market from an estate. Do you see anything on the follwing list that you would recommend I not let get away? If there is an item, can you recommend a fair price (assuming all in good condition)

Just about everything on there is a keeper. I'd say it depends on condition and price but mainly just whichever ones float your boat.

I assume these will be mostly in excellent condition since the guy who collected was very serious about his collection. I'd love to say I'll take em all but leaning towards the pistols especially #3 the Colt 1911. Is there much demand for #1, #2 and #5 ? If you could pick one shotgun, which one would you pick?

Your taste may not match mine at all but the 1911 for sure and the Desert Eagle is a good one. #5 is a rifle but it would be a good one to have as would #'s 7,8 and 9 but that Zeiss scope on #8 is really gonna jack the price up(especialy if it was made in Germany). To pick just one shotgun would be tough but if I had to do it I'd probably go with #20. I'm sure everybody else will have different opinions. I'd love to be in your shoes right now but I'd hate to have to make the decisions you're faced with. It all comes down to it's your money, get what YOU like and want. Not what we'd get. I wouldn't get them to be safe queens. If I had them I'd use them. That's what they were made for.

Go Superposed or A-5 for a shotgun. I am not too far from Dallas, how will the rest of the guns be sold after you have your pick?

Thanks for all the feedback. Wouldn't it be nice if you could take'em all & sell off the ones you don't want after you've had a chance to shoot for awhile.

Barber - The excutive of the estate is trying to decide what to sell and what will go to the heirs. She'll give me 1st shot but if there is additional would you like me to email you? Can you send me your address?

17, 18, 20, 21, and 25 are probably the best items on the list.

Of those, 18 and 25 probably have the higest future collector value.

With the exception maybe of #7, I don't see you having any trouble at all finding a ready buyer for ANY of them (.300 Jarrett is sort of an oddball round, and that limits the "curb appeal").
