Took the old 1892 Winchester to the range for the first time today. Not having any idea when it was last fired or what condition it was really in, the first shot was carefully fired at arms length. All was good and the bullet hit very close to the aiming point at 40m. I then set up a target at 25m and took a shot, resting against a post, to see where it was aiming. It hit about half an inch from the aiming point. Fired a number of shots, using the post, and then some more freehand. These are the ones in the upper circle. It was, on average, shooting about one to one and a half inches high. Adjusted my point of aim to where the cross is and fired some more freehand.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the rifle for one that's over 110 years old and with my first batch of reloads in 30 odd years.
