Hey folks, santa will be bringing me my very first revolver this.year! A Ruger Super Redhawk in.454 casull. I was wondering if anyone could recommend someone or a company that makes fully custom grips. Id like to have a wood grip with a pair of aces and a pair of eights...."the dead mans hand". I dont know much about custom grips, let alone whats involved in putting inlays in them. Any thoughts, ideas, or.recommendations?

Think about a budget and do a net search. Cu$tom grips are not cheap. Likely a good idea to shoot the cannon first too.
Anyway, there are lots of sites for places making grips. Nice walnut grips start at about $80. The card insert is the pricey bit.

Thanx.guys, ill check out the links later tonight. Yes, big first revolver...lol. im a recoil junkie and if you saw the rest of my collection youd understand why i.want the casull!. Go big or.go home. I likem loud too. Im the guy you HATE shooting next to at the range, hahaha. Yea, as far as a budget, im.going to treat this like i would a scope...i want comfort and quality, id say id be willing to spend no more then $300. And the gun is simply for recreation...i do not hunt.

Im torn too, i know i def dont want a pistol scope on it but i kinda like the idea of a red dot. But at the same time, id kinda like to get a thigh holster for it and i highly doubt mounting a red dot would allow me to holster it. Do they even make an affordable red dot that will hold up on something like that? Maybe ill just take my time getting used to the iron sights before i go buying optics for it. Who knew that a simple revolver would require so much decision making...lol!

Best thing about a .454 is that you can shoot 45colt in it and save the monster loads for bear protection.
